i love that all the research skills lectures are v statistics based like regression formula and residuals and simple effects analysis etc and then the last one is just… experimental designs. which i’m pretty sure i learnt in GCSE science? at least i know i’ll get some marks.

just bought a core textbook for next year, a misc. interesting looking textbook and another book related to my course for £14 YEAAH getting ahead of the game. i also found out that you only need 100 credits to pass first year so technically i can fail two exams and still pass so everything is going to be okay.

i just watched sleepwalk with me because i couldn’t face revising anymore and enjoyed it a whole bunch! i’ve been meaning to watch it for a while ever since i heard mike birbiglia talking about his sleepwalking on this american life and i’m glad i got around to it. the narrative style reminded me a lot of high fidelity which was great cos that’s one of my favourite films and the whole thing was really enjoyable. it made me laugh a lot, it made me well up in places and, because it is pretty much a true story, was very realistic which is always nice. anyway if you have american netflix i recommend watching it, it’s only 80 minutes long which usually i think is great but i could have easily watched this for another 20 minutes so if that doesn’t sing its praises then i dunno what does!

i have sobbed my way through the last two hours of revision and had an argument with my parents and i just feel like SUCH a disappointment. last year i was getting 100% in most things and had loads of friends who liked me and wanted to hang out with me and i was very independent and was rarely at home and i was basically everything a parent would want their eldest child to be but now i’m barely scraping 60% and i have very very few friends in leeds and i spend a lot of time on my own and i want to be at home all the time and i thought moving out would improve my life, not make it worse but i’d probs give a limb to go back to the start of uni and do things differently because in hindsight my life didn’t even need improving. what the hell am i doing.

edit: i mean i’m averaging 60% across all my modules which, whilst a good mark, doesn’t necessarily mean i’m gonna pass everything. if that makes sense.

a week tomorrow (technically today) until i go home for a summer of unlimited: cutest boy in the world, comfiest bed in the world, trips to colpitts, drinking in parks, playing mario kart, going to fun places in the north east, not having to buy my own food, being able to watch bio channel on sky, walking my dog, getting drunk with my parents, cuddling my cute friends, basking in the glory of durham, charity shopping and leisurely reading.
i cannot wait.

today, instead of revising for my exam tomorrow, i have had a lie in, used a hair dryer to dry my clothes, been for drinks and food with georgina (who is the nicest, by the way), helped david move out of his house, been with david to sign for his flat, been driven back to leeds and gone for thai with david and his mum. i would feel bad about this but it’s the easiest module ever, with no reading, and i only have two more lectures to cover. best get to work!

omg three hours ago i was like yeah i might wash some clothes while i can and am knackered so just went to move stuff to the dryer and IT STILL HADN’T FINISHED what the hell it was only a couple of dresses and underwear so we had to stop the wash, wring it all out, put what we could in the dryer and hang the rest up to drip dry in david’s room. am meant to be meeting georgina tomorrow (!) but if my bra and dress aren’t dry that might be difficult… i hope my washing machine next year isn’t this bad.
